Spring/Summer 2015 Couture Trend Report
The Spring/Summer 2015 haute couture shows recently wrapped up in Paris. From floral embellishments to pretty plumage, several reoccurring themes swept the runways. Here is a round up of the top trends.
Bejeweled Elements
Shimmering jewels, crystals and sequins illuminated the runways. Gorgeous gowns were dripping in jewels, encrusted clutches caught my eye, and even bedazzled boots made their debut. The exquisite craftsmanship was apparent in these awe-inspiring looks. Elie Saab, Georges Hobeika and Zuhair Murad, to name a few sent bejeweled beauties down the catwalk. Dior’s sequin coated boots shone brightly, and were the star of the show.
Candilicious Couture
Think pink! Candy-colored gowns tantalized my taste buds in soft macaroon and sorbet hues. Georges Hobeika, Ralph & Russo, Valentino and Zuhair Murad embraced this delicate color palette for spring.
Cutouts
Peek-a-boo! Sexy skin appeared in the form of tasteful cutouts from the likes of Atelier Versace, Dior and Stephane Rolland. Interesting shapes contoured the body showing just the right amount of flesh, yet still leaving a little room for the imagination. Love that!
Cobalt Blue
This electrifying hue made a bold statement this season. Atelier Versace and Chanel were fans of the sapphire jewel-toned color.
Femme Fleur
Florals set the runways abloom for spring/summer 2015 embracing a feminine energy that was both graceful and vibrant. Flower power was in full effect. Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into a luscious garden for the Chanel show, Valentino’s models had delicate flowers woven into their hair and Franck Sorbier’s girls had twigs in their hair. Beautiful floral embellishments graced boleros, gowns and skirts at Chanel, Franck Sorbier, Ralph & Russo and Valentino.
Shake Your Tail Feathers
Birds of a feather flock together! Pretty plumage graced the runways this season, especially at Elie Saab. The feathery frocks were both flirty, and feminine.

Sheerness was a beautiful trend that showcased itself in almost every collection. From lightweight chiffon, lace and sexy side panels translucent looks and ethereal weights swept across the runways. Alexis Mabille, Elie Saab, Stephane Rolland, Valentino and Zuhair Murad, emphasized the délicatesse of feminine fluidity.
Wedding Dress
There is nothing more exquisite than the haute couture wedding gowns that often are the final look of each collection. This season certainly did not disappoint between Elie Saab, Frank Sorbier, Georges Hobeika, Ralph & Russo, Stephane Rolland and Zuhair Murad magnificent wedding dresses left us hoping one day we would be lucky enough to wear one of those splendid gowns.
